Growing Up x Primark*

Don't we all miss our childhood days? When we didn't have a care in the world, not a worry on our shoulders and we were simply carefree. I miss those days, I miss waking up with a clear head and a fun-filled day of adventure ahead. I guess that is what happens when your growing up, you forget how simple life was when you were younger. Things that seemed like the end of the world back then, aren't even a blip in your daily life now. A day off work doing nothing seems like a dream and getting a proper nights sleep seems beyond unrealistic. But isn't constantly chasing your tail worth it in the end? The feeling of pride you get when you finish a project you have been working tirelessly on, the joy you feel when you get that promotion in work and finally owning that designer bag you once dreamed of because you worked for it! I am at that stage in my life right now, nearing the end of my final year in college about to jump head on into the real world of full-time work. While at times I get overwhelmed by the thoughts of finally being "an adult", it also makes me very excited to see where my career will take me, how will I progress, will I love it or will I hate it? It is without a doubt a daunting but very exciting time in my life and I promise to cherish every moment of it, good or bad!
I think all these thoughts are the reason why I was instantly drawn to these "Pink Dungarees" new in to Primark. A little touch of your childhood in a grown up outfit - bonus! I just love the fun vibe they give a look and they are such a fun piece to style up! Keeping everything young yet edgy with a "Slogan Cut-Out Tee" (that you can't really see here) and a simple "Denim Jacket". I am loving double denim this Spring/Summer so adding it to this look with the contrasting colours was the perfect addition! Then finally to add one more piece of colour to the look, I added this a "Emerald Green Hoodie" which I actually picked up in Primark Man for €11, along with every other colour it came in! I just think the green colouring plays off the pink so well that it really gives it a fun, childish look.
Primark are literally KILLIN'IT this Spring/Summer with their latest lines! Every time I go in for a pair of socks I come out €17368204 poorer - typical, but I just can't help it!
All the pieces from this look are in store in Primarks nationwide now.

The Next Chapter!

I've kind of been MIA on the blog recently and that is mainly because everyday life has become insanely busy. I am in the last few weeks of my final year in College so due dates and exams are quickly approaching so I am up to my eyes in assignments. Along with normal work, exciting blog projects and the daily life of a 22 year old, but I am not complaining! For once in my life I can honestly say I am happy with how things are going, I am working on myself every single day, powering towards my goals and having fun along the way. I never thought I would enjoy growing up and leaving the adolescent stage of my life behind but I think that is exactly what I needed to do. I have always had an old head on me which made me v.sensible throughout my teenage years but now it is finally paying off. I never had a grĂ¡ for nights out and endless drinks, I am more of a "in bed by 10pm" kind of girl. I enjoy working towards my goals than the endless college nights out and an evening at home with my family is much more enjoyable than a night out in a club. In this day and age I think it is very rare you hear young people say that, but for me it is true!
My latest exciting step into adulthood was buying my own car! I've had my license for nearly 4 years now and was lucky enough to have an old car under my arse for the last few years but I felt it was the right time to upgrade and get myself a much safer and sensible car. I know for 22 it is such a big commitment to take on but if anything it has pushed me to work harder than ever. Thankfully I have a great family who supported my decision and helped me make the best choice along with Cavanaghs of Charleville who were honestly the biggest gems in this monumental step, they made the whole process a breeze and made sure I was at ease every step of the way - I couldn't recommend them enough! I know some people were asking me on social media what car I ended up getting and it is the Ford Ka+ in white, I know absolutely ZERO about cars so along as one had 4 wheels and would drive, I was happy!
It's moments like these that make me appreciate every step and path I have taken so far. I never made the traditional decision leaving school and while so many people doubted me at the time, 4 years later I can finally say I have proved them wrong and not even that I can say I proved myself right! Life is an actual rollercoaster with incredible highs and disastrous lows but how we handle the ride is what makes us who we are! I am very excited for what is to come and even more excited to work my little bum off and turn my little corner of the internet into something huge. I have so many goals in life that nothing or no one will stop me from reaching them. Here is too the next chapter!

#LoveLifeTravels - Edinburgh

I am only home 48 hours and I would give anything to be back in Edinburgh. It was a trip I was so excited for and it certainly lived up to it's expectations. At the end of last year I decided to book flights for myself & my friend Emma for her 21st birthday which is later this month as a present. It was a short 3 Day-City break but it was an amazing one. Thankfully we had great weather for the 3 days which is unexpected for Edinburgh seeing as we had packed as if we were going to the Antartica. If you are following me on Instagram: @niamh_lovelife you would have seen my daily updates of our trip while we were over there but I actually managed to Vlog the whole trip too so I should have that up over the next week or so. I have gotten quite a few messages asking where we stayed and what we did while we were over there so I thought it would be best to share all that information with you here.
Where We Stayed: We stayed in the Apex City Hotel in Grassmarket which was ideal. It was a 5 minute walk from Princess Street, Edinburgh Castle, everything really. We actually booked it on and snapped it up for a bargain so if your looking for a really swanky hotel but don't want to pay extremely high prices then definitely check that out.
What We Did: Thankfully I have amazing followers so when I popped it up on social media that I was going to Edinburgh for a few days I got so many recommendations on what to see & do over there that we didn't even know where to start. Cocktail bars were definitely the must recommended things for us to do but we aren't really going out people and are generally in bed before 11pm no matter where we go on holidays! We also didn't want to waste any of our days hungover so we kind of gave the nights out a miss. Instead we actually did a lot of touristy things and of course a spot of shopping too. I will have everything we did in my upcoming Vlog but mainly we went to see Edinburgh Castle, Camera Obscura, National Scottish Gallery, The Dungeons, The Zoo and so much more.
Where We Ate: Food was a big thing for us and I am pretty sure I ate for 90% of our trip but I wouldn't have it any other way. Every morning we went to The Huxley for breakfast. It was such a gorgeous restaurant/cafe and literally had the nicest pancakes imaginable - I had to be rolled out of there every day. For dinner then we went to Byron Burger and TGI Fridays of course, the perfect places for tasty burgers along with so much more!
All my outfit details and more are over on my Instagram (@niamh_lovelife) if you want to have a look but I will also have my Vlog up sometime this week which will give you a better insight into the whole trip. Edinburgh - YOU ARE AMAZING!
