To be honest, this blog post has been a long time coming! You may have noticed it throughout 2018 that I kind of fell out of love with blogging and while I have tried (& forced) myself to fall in love with this industry again - I just don’t think I can, I just need to reinvent it all. I feel like in a way I have lost myself and my identity trying to fit in to an industry where at times I feel like I just don’t belong anymore. I adore fashion, style and of course clothes but I think the more I delve into the blogging industry at times, the more I see it depends on fast fashion brands too much and that is having such a negative impact on the environment along with my actual conscience. Don’t get me wrong, I won’t be able to completely step away from different brands but I will be putting a firm reign on what I buy, how much I buy and my fashion footprint on the world. I feel a constant pressure to have the newest items in stock, be ahead of the trend and buy clothes I don’t actually really love to have constant new content. I am forgetting about investment pieces I own, love and adore whilst also losing my own fashion identity all to gain numbers on an app that does not validate my worth or existence more than the next person.
Of course I will still continue to share my looks and outfits I love but I think they will be few and far in between. I am tired of feeling this constant guilt of not creating enough content and never having enough time to focus on myself, discover what I love and work on creating the best life imaginable for myself. I have felt uninspired for quite some time and I want that spark back in my life again, I want that spring back in my step. I have been so blessed and lucky to work with some amazing brands over the last 5+ years. I have been brought on trips of a lifetime and have had a never ending list of pinch me moments. I have also made the most incredible group of friends who will continue to inspire me away from the fashion world. Brands like Primark, PrettyLittleThing, JD Sports, Nasty Gal and too many more to mention have treated me like family over the last few years and I honestly cannot thank and praise each and every single one of them enough for their support throughout this blogging journey. I hope my next chapter will involve working with some of these incredible people that I have met during my "Love Life" Chapter hopefully at another stage.
I feel like I haven't even made a dent in this amazing world. There is so many places I want to see, feelings I want to feel and memories I want to make, outside of a computer screen and not through a camera lens (well not all the time, haha). Life is short, sweet and a complete and utter roller coaster at the best of times but I wouldn’t have it any other way. We work to live, not live to work!
So while one chapter may be closing in my book, a new one is just starting. Who knows what is next for me? All I do know is I plan on spending every minute of my life laughing through any pain, day-dreaming my days away and smiling when it is the very last thing I want to do because life is too damn short to wait until tomorrow. This isn’t the complete end of my journey within the blogging/fashion industry, this is just the end of this chapter and time for me to start a new one. Who knows what is next - maybe a podcast, a re-brand or something completely different, I am looking forward to starting something new, fresh & exciting.
To every single one of you who have read, followed and enjoyed my blog Love Life etc over the last few years - THANK YOU! Because of your constant support, I have been able to experience things I never thought imaginable, made friends I never thought I would meet and follow my dreams when I didn't think it was possible. I have loved, lived and enjoyed every single minute but it's time to start something new. Who knows what the next chapter holds? All I know is I am excited to continue following my dreams!

JDSportsIE X Me

Two new blog posts in one week - who have I become? I feel like I have a new lease of life with my blogging this year, it may end soon but so far so good and I love that I am getting the chance to sit down and spend some time putting my thoughts into words. I am currently absolutely smothered with a chest infection and flu of some sort and after a trip to the doctors have stocked up on everything to make me feel better along with being told to take some rest for the next few days, so it is not an ideal start to the week but none the less, I am going to make the most of my time off to look after myself and really get myself back to the top of my health.
Today's post is a quick one and it is all about incorporating sportswear pieces into daily looks. This style of outfit is my go to look as it is comfort and glam all tied into one. Wear a pair of trainers with it for a casual day or swap the trainers for heels for a girls night out - it is such a versatile look. I recently picked up a few pieces from JD Sports including this Black Adidas Long Sleeved Sweater along with these Copper Stan Smiths which are just amazing! Pairing pieces like this Adidas Sweater with something as simple as a an oversized blazer and faux leather leggings just adds a classy edge to the look and while I am all about comfort, these Stan Smiths were the perfect addition. I cant wait to pair both the sweater and trainers again with some mom jeans and an oversized bomber for the ultimate relaxed vibes.
I have to say, JD Sports are absolutely KILLING IT when it comes to sports luxe pieces, especially ones to bring to your fashion forward wardrobe. From Adidas to North Face, they have it all. I have styled up different Adidas pieces from JD Sports on the blog before which you can see here & I am v excited to continue adding some of their amazing pieces into my Spring wardrobe!

Turning 24 With Primark*

It is actually frightening that I am writing this blog post, it only seems like yesterday I was turning 18, where have the last few years gone! I have to say, I am not taking turning 24 very well and everyone I say that to just laughs at me. I don’t know why but now I feel like people are going to start asking the general questions like “What is your next step?, When are you moving out? Are you thinking of settling down soon?” and I generally feel like a 13 year old 1st Year Student who is physically unable to look after themselves not to mind people expecting me to mind a house or be responsible for another life? When in reality my life is actually just starting and freedom is at the tip of my fingers.
I love that my birthday is at the start of the year because it just feels so good. New Year, New Age equals a fresh start. In one way I am excited to see what 24 has in store because 23 was the biggest shit show for me so I am feeling very positive about what 24 has to offer. I feel like I am really finding myself lately and figuring out what I want out of life. I know who is important to me and who makes me feel good about myself. I am ready to fall in love with myself again after a few turbulent years of resenting myself. I have started to care less about what people think about me and I think that comes with age or so I am told it does. I have started to care about my physical and mental health more rather than just worrying what my appearance looks like. Nothing feels better than feeling good about yourself and that is what I want to work on for the year ahead. I am ready to fall in love with life because it is too god damn short and that is just a fact. I want to see more of the world and make memories rather than just focusing on materialistic things. You can’t bring them with you to the grave but you can bring your memories. I want to have a happier outlook on life, I want to wake up feeling grateful that I get to live this crazy, wonderful and wacky life, and that will all be down to my frame of mind each day. The years are slipping by and I am growing up without even knowing it which is both frightening and exciting at the same time. It’s time to cherish everyday because without sounding cynical, I have no clue when it could be my last.
Now back to business, so this is my very first post of 2019 and is there anyone better to be working with than Primark? I have been very fortunate over the last 2 years to work with Primark on numerous trips, campaigns and more which honestly is a dream come true - pinch me! I think we can all agree that every Irish girl is a Penneys girl at heart. Whether you end up going in for a packet of socks and come out with a whole new wardrobe, bedroom and a few other small pieces to picking up a last minute outfit for a night out on the town with your friends, Primark (Penneys to us Irish Gals) is a girl’s best friend.
Personally I think Primark have been killing it over the last few months, their new season pieces have been challenging high street brands with runway pieces for a fraction of high street prices. From their Satin Print Skirts to their two piece suits, Primark have something to suit every style, shape and budget.
Primark's recent Coat & Jacket Collection has been NEXT LEVEL. I genuinely think I have bought like 10 Coats there this A/W which isn't the best thing to admit. Their styles are amazing and bang on trend. When I saw this Khaki Check beauty on my recent trip to London with Primark I knew straight away it had to be mine. A piece like this needs to be the focal point of the entire look, its oversized shape and knee length fit makes it the perfect addition to any wardrobe. Pairing it with high waisted Mom Jeans and a simple black hoodie for the comfiest look along with black platformed boots - what more could you want?
It is amazing how mixing Budget Friendly pieces with Designer Pieces like this creates an amazing luxury look. Fingers crossed Primark release more amazing pieces like this because I am ready to fill my wardrobe up with them.
